Founded in 2003, the BA&SH brand owes its current success to two high school friends, Barbara Boccara and Sharon Krief. Barbara was working in public relations and Sharon was studying law, but at the age of 33, their passion for fashion took over. And so, together, they launched themselves into the world of ready-to-wear. They decided to offer women a brand strictly reserved for them and called it BA&SH, a name combining the first two letters of their first names, BA for Barbara and SH for Sharon. Timidly, the two friends made a few garments available to their first female customers: pants, shirts, long dresses and sweaters. With astonishing speed, the designs caught on, and the two founders opened their first boutique in Paris in 2004. Sales soared, so much so that the opening of another store in Marseille in 2007 proved promising. The same boom continued, with several other stores opening in France. Then, with the Internet becoming an excellent tool for promoting the brand, Barbara and Sharon set up an online boutique. Year after year, the brand grew enormously, leading the L Catterton fund and the Vog Group to acquire a stake in the company. Today, more than 400 boutiques open worldwide, selling BA&SH ready-to-wear as well as various accessories: bags, belts, and even eyewear and sunglasses.
