PERSOL eyewear frames
History of the Persol brand
In 1917, Giuseppe Ratti founded Industria Ottica in Turin. He began manufacturing eyewear designed to protect the eyes of sport pilots and aviators with colored screens that prevent them from being bothered by natural phenomena such as air, sun and bad weather. Initially, these were masks, including the famous "Protector" model, which was adopted by racer Manuel Fangio, the armed forces and even NASA.
It wasn't until 1938 that the Persol range (from the expression "per il sole") combined sunglasses with its masks. The Persol brand went on to create numerous innovations, such as the Meflecto system with its temporal striations and the Persol Victor Flex system, which makes the frame bridge flexible thanks to 3 small notches. Persol's inventive, high-performance and majestic style has been shaped by its sporty beginnings, but it has also opened up to the world of fashion and the general public. Who doesn't recognize its "supreme arrow", which serves as a screw cap embedded in the hinge of its eyewear?
Assert your style with Persol frames
Persol frames are designed to act as a filter between the wearer and the rest of the world. Their lenses are made of natural crystal.
Persol offers a range of classic eyewear frames and a more contemporary range of designer models. Sunglass shapes are vintage, wide and full-bodied; colors remain classic and classy, with tortoiseshell patterns back in fashion. Frames for prescription glasses have a rather retro style, and some models, in acetate or metal, have more sober, often rectangular shapes.
All models are made in Italy. Photo-Polar lenses, combining a polarizing filter that blocks glare and a filter that modifies lens color according to light intensity, are Persol's latest addition. Discover our similar eyewear frames with Guess eyewear frames and Paul & Joe eyewear frames.
