Ralph Lauren eyewear
RALPH LAUREN, whose real name is Ralph LIFSCHITZ, is a world-renowned American fashion designer. He was born in 1939 in the Bronx, New York, of Jewish immigrant parents from Russia. He is the founder of the RALPH LAUREN brand and of the iconic PREPPY style.
The Ralph Lauren story
From an early age, RALPH LAUREN was drawn to elegant clothes. Every evening after school, he worked to earn pocket money in order to afford expensive, chic suits. Ralph and his older brother Jerry preferred to change their surnames, despite their parents' disagreement, because they felt it was necessary for their future lives. After two years in the army, RALPH LAUREN married in 1964, and took on a series of odd jobs in the fashion industry, without ever having studied design. When his ideas went unheeded, RALPH LAUREN decided to create his own tie collection. He tried to sell himself by canvassing stores, and BLOOMINGDALE'S agreed to market his creations. In 1967, RALPH LAUREN opened his own tie boutique, which he named POLO. Soon after, he expanded his range to include shirts and other menswear. In 1970, his wife asked him to add a line for women to his collections, cut in a masculine style. Its name would be: the POLO player rider. 1972 saw the launch of his famous short-sleeved RALPH LAUREN polo shirts, a classic of the brand to this day. In the 1980s, to diversify its ranges, the brand added accessories for the home.
Since that happy year of 1967, RALPH LAUREN has seen its empire expand worldwide. The company has enjoyed prodigious success, with over 300 boutiques in 80 countries. To complete its fashion universe, RALPH LAUREN has added children's clothing collections.
Eyewear and sunglasses complete the range of RALPH LAUREN signature accessories. A label that remains true to its philosophy of offering timeless designs, classic contemporary and sportswear chic.
Timeless eyewear
For RALPH LAUREN, eyewear has to be timeless. The frames of RALPH LAUREN's classically shaped prescription eyewear have been revisited with fashionable colors and refined materials. Women will love wearing RALPH LAUREN eyewear all day long or on demand, with class and distinction. The small, rectangular acetate frames won't cover your face. The light brown hue will sublimate your skin, you'll be seductive and distinguished, and the black and red frame will bring you into the trend of the moment.
Ladies, you won't be able to resist the RALPH LAUREN optical collection: all the frames combine elegance and glamour with graceful simplicity. The vintage feel of RALPH LAUREN eyewear will complement your wardrobe. Men can choose between frames in sober, sophisticated colors, or frames with a very contemporary tortoiseshell look, classic but always at the cutting edge of fashion. The finesse of RALPH LAUREN frames brings you the chic and glamour you love. You'll assert your character by wearing rectangular frames in soft, modern shades, just right for you men. Those who want to be serious in all circumstances will appreciate rounded frames, inspired by the 1950s, slightly retro and so much classier.
RALPH LAUREN eyewear frames in acetate or metal, new or vintage, in sober, discreet colors or brighter, more luminous ones, will take you to the top of the fashion world. The POLO series by RALPH LAUREN will appeal to everyone, from men to women. In this extraordinary series, elegant materials combine with tortoiseshell to create extraordinary frames. The brand's logo is delicately affixed to the temples, giving you the touch of luxury for which it is famous.
