Born in 1967, Isabel Marant is a ready-to-wear fashion designer. From the age of 15, she sewed in her bedroom on a sewing machine given to her by her father. She took her first steps in the textile industry with Christophe Lemaire. Together, they explored the then little-known field of upcycling. This involved salvaging fabrics (second-hand, upholstery fabrics, dishcloths, etc.) and transforming them into ready-to-wear garments. In 1985, Isabel entered the Berçot studio, a fashion school. She then interned with designer Michel Klein and worked with Bridget Yorke. In 1989, she launched her first jewelry collections, then created with her mother a collection of jerseys and knitwear under the name Twen by Isabel Marant. In 1994, she launched her own eponymous label and organized her first fashion show for the spring-summer 1995 collection. She went on to win the 1997 Fashion Award and the 1998 Whirlpool Trophy. to this day, the brand has diversified.
