CARRERA DUCATI sunglasses
At the start of 2022, the DUCATI team joined the CARRERA brand for the next four years. Together, they have signed an agreement to create optical frames and sunglasses. With a shared passion for sport and design, the two brands aim to combine style and technology in an approach driven by innovation. Their first collection was inspired by DUCATI's high-performance Panigale V4 motorcycle. In keeping with the spirit of its founder, sports enthusiast Anger Wilhelm, the CARRERA brand could only be linked to the motorcycle brand.
The DUCATI brand was founded in 1956 by two brothers, Adriano and Marcello. in the early days, they manufactured various parts for radio sets. But in 1944, a bombing razed the factory to the ground. However, the DURATI brothers didn't give up and went to work for the Italian company SIATA. They designed engines for 48 cm³ single-cylinder bikes. In 1952, Marcello and Adriano regained control of their business with the first 175 CC Cruiser scooter designed with electric start and automatic transmission. to this day, DUCATI offers motorcycles reserved for competition.
As for the Italian CARRERA brand, it was created by Anger Wilhelm in 1956. The founder was inspired by a 6-day "Carrera Panamericana" race through Mexico. Fascinated by motor racing and the frames adapted to these professionals, he was able to convince top sportsmen and women who quickly selected the CARRERA brand for their sporting competitions. In 1980, custom-made resin eyewear was introduced. Then, in the 2000s, the brand introduced a frame with lenses bonded to the bridge and temples.

They can easily be worn under a helmet. The shapes are varied: square, rectangular, oval, round... Made from acetate or carbon fiber, the frames are light, resistant and enveloping. As for colors, while black is favored, tortoiseshell, gray, violet and a few others are available. The interior of some red temples completes the finish of the CARRERA and DUCATI co-brands. Likewise, you'll find pierced, half-rimmed or rimmed frames. As for lens tints, each color has its own specificity. Orange or yellow is ideal for overcast conditions, green is suitable for all metrological conditions, and brown or tan reduces glare. All frames feature the dual DUCATI and CARRERA logos.
