Oakley sports glasses
Oakley is a sports glasses brand built around the story of Jim Jannard, an American businessman and designer.
In 1975, he created handlebar grips for motorcycles using a new material, unobtainium. He later used it to change the world of eyewear and sunglasses.
The name Oakley comes from his dog, who regularly lay down at the foot of an oak tree Oak-ley "oak law". The brand creates its first pair of glasses, named "O-France". The lens was cylindrical (it was to become the brand logo) and the frame was designed primarily for motorcycling. Until the early 1980s, cyclists didn't wear specific sunglasses to protect their eyes from U.V. rays. In 1984, the Oakley brand began equipping cyclists.
Various sportsmen and women, including Greg Lemond (American racing cyclist), began to take an interest in the brand, which became increasingly popular for its innovations, performance and new technical features. Greg Lemond represented the brand three times on the top step of the Tour de France podium in 1986, 1989 and 1990. He showed off his Eyeshades frame, based on the O-Frames, but with improved performance and lighter weight.

Oakley: the sports glasses brand for everyone
Are you a motorcycle enthusiast? Choose covering, anti-reflective lenses that keep out insects and dust. Or opt for photochromic lenses that darken or lighten according to the light, or hydrophobic lenses that repel water droplets from the outside of the lens.
Do you practice outdoor sports such as golf, parachuting or mountain biking in often difficult weather conditions? For these sports, we recommend a lightweight frame with a strap and a ventilation system to evaporate fog and ensure good air circulation. Choose equipment that protects you from rain, wind, spray and insects.
Skiing, mountaineering and hiking in the mountains call for goggles that protect you from UV rays, insulate you from light and help you fight snow and wind. For a perfect fit, choose frames with side, top and bottom coverage, curved temples and lenses with category 3 or 4 filtration.
Fishing, sailing and diving are all very popular water sports, and require special protection. All these disciplines require polarized lenses that offer a clear view of colors and shapes, filter UV rays and reduce the sensation of glare and reverberation. These sports expose your eyes to UV rays when the surface of the water reflects the sun's rays.
Do you play soccer, volleyball, basketball, handball or tennis? As a result, you're often the victim of shocks, jolts and falls. Your glasses need to be robust and resistant. Choose one with a shock absorber on the nose and temples, and a wide strap with quick adjustment. Choose a model with anti-fog treatment, hydrophobic lenses that evacuate water to the outside, and a front or side ventilation system to let air circulate.
