ALCON contact lenses
For decades, ALCON has been committed to helping patients see better by developing innovative eye care treatments, with ophthalmic professionals supporting you every step of the way.
ALCON brand history
Robert Alexander and William Conner founded ALCON in 1945 in Fort Worth, Texas. They came up with the name by joining the first letters of their two surnames, AL for Alexander and CON for Conner.
In the early days, it was a simple production pharmacy, offering local doctors the products they needed to meet their requirements, which the firm was able to produce.
Robert Alexander and William Conner soon realized that patients had a real need for ophthalmic potions and remedies. They took this route and specialized with great success.
After passing through the Nestlé Group, ALCON was sold to NOVARTIS on April 7, 2008.
They extend their production to pharmaceutical products, as well as medicines for severe eye diseases and eye lenses. ALCON manufactures and distributes contact lenses worldwide, meeting the most stringent requirements to improve the lives of patients with visual problems.
CIBA VISION contact lenses from ALCON
The ALCON company, now part of CIBA VISION, is a leading manufacturer of contact lenses and high-performance care products.
ALCON offers a whole range of contact lenses to suit your needs.
ALCON will show you all its products, from contact lenses in different categories such as monthly lenses, daily lenses and fancy lenses that will change the color of your eyes, to lenses that correct almost any vision problem, even the most serious.
Contact lenses are comfortable and discreet, so when you wear them, no one will notice that you have a visual defect.
CIBA VISION contact lenses are soft, with high oxygen transmissibility, so you don't have to worry about dry, red or itchy eyes. When you put your lenses in, you'll immediately feel the benefits.
Lenses take care of all the optical anomalies you may suffer from: myopia, astigmatism, hyperopia and even presbyopia.
A few precautions to take
If you'd like to wear contact lenses, this is not a trivial gesture, as contact lenses are medical devices.
You'll need to visit your ophthalmologist for a prescription, who will give you a prescription that corresponds to the correction you need. Your optician will then supply you with the lenses that are best suited to your needs: daily, monthly, continuous wear or not, but always with your doctor's approval.
For monthly lenses, specific care products will be supplied, but under no circumstances will saliva or tap water be used to care for your contact lenses.
ALCON also offers a wide range of solutions for cleaning, disinfecting and rinsing your contact lenses every night. You'll discover hydration drops that will improve the comfort of wearing your lenses all day long, for all those who work in unsuitable and dusty environments.
Hygiene and common sense will keep your eyes in good condition. Your eyesight is precious, so don't neglect to wash your hands before each manipulation.
Scrupulously follow the schedule laid down by your eye care professional: monthly lenses don't last a lifetime, and daily lenses must be disposed of every evening. Follow your prescription and your lenses will become an integral part of your eyes.
