Reimbursement by your supplementary health insurance providers

Your supplementary health insurance providers

Health expenses are often expensive, and usually arise unexpectedly, which is why it's important to be well covered. French national health insurance reimburses some optical expenses, but not all. To make up for this, each individual can take out a contract with a supplementary health insurance provider.

In return for a contribution, the rate of which varies according to the organization, the supplementary health insurance providers can supplement, in whole or in part, the expenses not reimbursed by compulsory health insurance (CPAM, MSA, RSI, CPR SNCF...). These organizations provide reimbursements for medical care in the event of illness, hospitalization, accident or maternity.

Membership of a supplementary health insurance provider or mutuelle is not compulsory, and the level of reimbursements varies according to the contract and options chosen. So, depending on your individual needs, it's important to choose the right plan for you.
