Jacob Bausch joined forces with Henry Lomb one day in 1853. He asked him for a sixty-dollar loan to expand his optical store.

These two German émigrés settled in Rochester, a beautiful city in the U.S. state of New York. between them, they founded the world's oldest ophthalmic company, and the Bausch & Lomb brand was launched.

Henry Lomb and his sidekick Jacob Bausch put their ideas into practice, emphasizing the seriousness and craftsmanship of quality workmanship to become known and recognized the world over. Bausch & Lomb issued numerous patents. Binoculars, microscopes, lenses, eyeglasses and sunglasses invaded our homes, much to our delight.

In 1940, Bausch & Lomb produced sunglasses for U.S. Army pilots. Today, the AVIATOR frame is instantly recognizable and always at the cutting edge of fashion. In 1971, Bausch & Lomb was authorized to market its contact lenses. Since then, the brand has been a leader in its field.

QUANTUM 1 and 2 lenses

QUANTUM contact lenses come in two forms: QUANTUM 1 and 2. Your contact lenses are specially designed to help myopes or hypermetropes who need strong correction, but would like the comfort and discretion of Bausch & Lomb contact lenses.

If your visual impairment is significant, QUANTUM 1 rigid lenses will open the door to freedom. With them, you'll be rid of your glasses. You'll easily adopt these daily-wear lenses. Their comfort is ideal for up to two years.

QUANTUM 2 lenses are rigid, spherical lenses. Subject to your eye care specialist's approval, these daily-wear lenses can be worn for 7 days and 6 nights in a row. QUANTUM 2 rigid contact lenses are very economical, and should be replaced every 2 years.

Caring for your Bausch & Lomb contact lenses

You've chosen to wear contact lenses. You'll be delighted to have your appearance back. However, you must never neglect hand hygiene. Before each manipulation, you should wash your hands. To clean your lenses, use the products designed for this purpose, not saliva or tap water, as bacteria abound. Your qualified optician will advise you on all the lotions available.
