Lens care

How do I care for my contact lenses? Lenses are fragile, which is why they need to be handled with great care.

When you need to remove or put in your lenses, you need to follow a strict protocol:

-First and foremost, before touching your eyes or your lenses, you must wash your hands with antibacterial soap. If you don't wash your hands, any germs that might be on your hands will end up on your lenses, and then on your cornea, which can lead to relatively serious infections. So it's vital to wash your hands first, then rinse them thoroughly and dry them properly with a clean towel.

-If you have disposable lenses, you can dispose of them directly. However, if you have frequently-replaced lenses (e.g. twice a month or monthly), you should first fill the blister packs in which your lenses will be stored with a multi-purpose disinfectant solution. You can then remove both lenses (always remove the same one first, to avoid reversals).

-Before inserting the lenses into the blister pack, clean them in the palm of your hand with multi-purpose disinfectant solution, using the movement of your finger to clean and purify them from deposits.

-Then rinse each lens before placing it in the blister pack and closing it.

-Don't forget to change blister packs frequently, about once a month. Even with continuous care, the blister does not always stay clean over time.

-After placing each lens in the blister pack, it takes around 6 hours for them to be fully cleaned and ready for use.

-It's also very important to respect the contact lens renewal schedule, i.e. not to exceed one month's use for monthly lenses.
