Today, 1 in 4 children wears glasses all the time, and 700,000 children in France have been detected as having an uncorrected or poorly corrected visual defect, according to ASNAV. We all know that computers and tablets are the latest fad for our children, but isn't it dangerous to overuse these screens?

As explained in the previous article, screens emit what is known as blue light, which promotes visual fatigue and causes visual discomfort in children.

What are the warning signs?

Warning signs are when your baby is :

- often bumps into things when walking.

If you notice the following symptoms in your child:

- Blinks too constantly,
- complains of headaches;
- his eyes are red,

- he makes mistakes on words or doesn't differentiate letters.

Make an appointment with an ophthalmologist immediately.

How often should I go?

Even if there are no particular signs or known family problems, visits are obligatory in the early days, at 9 months and at 2 years. If these visits have not been made, it's important to consult an ophthalmologist. From the first year of school onwards, a visit is recommended every 2 or 3 years, unless signs appear with:

- A change in behavior,
- a drop in school results.
