Men's sports glasses

MyMonture features 4 leading brands of sports glasses for men.

The French brand Julbo was created by Sévère Bourgeois in 1888 in Morez, in the Jura valley of French eyewear. The brand was bought by Jules Baud, who gave it the name we know today. in the early days, at the request of Chamonix crystal makers, the first glacier glasses were designed to protect the eyes during mountain expeditions. Subsequently, Jules Baud developed and tested his eyewear on high mountain peaks such as the 8,000-meter Everest. Today, the French brand offers sports glasses for men with increasingly technical lenses.

The French brand Demetz, founded by Gilles DEMETZ, combines his passion for scuba diving with his profession as an optician. Realizing how hard the sport was on the eyes, he designed an optically corrected diving mask. Since then, every sporting discipline has its own lenses and frames. Men have their own DEMETZ models.

The French Vuarnet brand was created by optician Roger Puilloux and Olympic ski champion Jean Vuarnet. Their goal was to design sunglass frames for mountain sports. Over time, the various innovations and technical features of the lenses have enabled the brand to become a partner of the French Ski Federation. Men particularly appreciate the ability to remove the removable shells of Glacier models with a simple gesture, for a classic frame designed for everyday wear. The Italian brand Oakley was founded in 1975 by Jim Jannard. The founder's aim was to equip cyclists with sunglasses to protect their eyes from the sun's rays. He began his creations with the use of a new material, unobtainium, which adheres perfectly to the skin in rainy weather, under water....since its creation, Oakley has continued to innovate and create high-performance products at the cutting edge of technology. Men who practice the sport of cycling trust the brand.

Protect your eyes with men's sports glasses

Men's eyewear must be adapted to the sport in question: outdoor, water, indoor and mountain. Outdoor sports often take place in special weather conditions. Your goggles must protect you from rain, wind, dust and splashes. Choose goggles with a ventilation system that prevents perspiration from fogging up. A wide field of vision is recommended for distance and side vision, and a perfect fit is highly recommended.

For water sports (sea, pool...), you'll need polarized lenses to avoid glare and excessive sunlight. The best frame is waterproof. If you want to be able to see out to the sides, choose a full-coverage model. If you practice a sport that exposes you to shocks, opt for glasses that provide good support.

For indoor sports, such as table tennis, basketball, handball, etc., select lenses designed to withstand the harmful effects of artificial light. Glasses with protective side shields or curved lenses may be useful. Indoors, fogging is often enemy number one, so equip your glasses with a side and front ventilation system, or even an adjustable one, not forgetting anti-fog coated lenses. To protect you from falls and shocks, choose strong, sturdy goggles with quick-adjust straps or with shock absorbers on the temples and nose.

When choosing goggles suitable for the mountains, take into account falls, fogging, sunlight reverberating off the snow, high luminosity, difficult weather conditions and a lateral field of vision. For this reason, select frames that cover and ventilate, and glasses fitted with shells or curves.
