Half-distance lenses, also known as degressive lenses, are another type of lens designed primarily for young presbyopes. Mid-distance lenses are designed for people who don't need to wear glasses all the time. In short, degressive lenses correct near and intermediate vision, but not distance vision. That's the difference with progressive lenses, which also correct distance vision. The lenses are therefore composed of two visual spaces, with a gradual transition.
