For all fashion lovers, the name Tom Ford is synonymous with purity and elegance, and it's to our delight that the designer has ventured into the world of eyewear, launching classic and refined collections. Today, Mymonture tells you the story of this talented designer.
The origins
Tom Ford was born in Austin, Texas, in 1961. He decided to study architecture, graduating from New York's Parsons School of Design in 1986.
His career in fashion accelerated when he joined Gucci in Milan in 1990. His first job was to design the women's ready-to-wear collections. Still at Gucci, he became Creative Director in 1992, then Artistic Director in 1994.
After revitalizing the Gucci brand, Tom Ford decided in 2005 to create his own eponymous brand, "Tom Ford", and collaborated with Marcolin Group for the optical eyewear and sunwear collections. Particular care is taken in the choice of materials and the hand-crafting of the various frames, all of which bear the stylized "T", the brand's sleek symbol.

In the meantime, Tom Ford has also dabbled in the 7th art with the creation of his film production company, "Fade to Black", which will enable him to produce, direct and co-write his first film. a Single Man ", released in December 2009 at the Venice Film Festival.
Let's get back to Tom Ford's frames. He explains that he draws his inspiration from the 50s, a decade he is particularly fond of. His aim is to find a compromise between futurism and tradition. Unlike some other brands, Tom Ford advocates simplicity of design, believing that aestheticism must necessarily involve the simplest things, while retaining a maximum of elegance.
