After focusing on how to protect children's eyes from the sunwe're going to take a look at children's eyewear. Which brands offer children's eyewear? How to choose them? And a selection of models by mymonture.

Children's eyesight is very important, which is why it's essential for them to have the best possible equipment. Optical equipment consists of a pair of lenses and a frame, and we're going to focus first on the frames.

Frames for children

A child's frame has to be able to withstand the various knocks and bumps it may be subjected to on a daily basis, which is why we at mymonture have made a selection of the frames we consider most suitable for children's use.

A child's frame should also be high enough to allow the child to look through the lenses as much as possible (and thus avoid looking above or below them).

In terms of material, a frame made of acetate (plastic) is recommended. This avoids the risk of allergies, and also distributes the frame's weight more evenly. A flexible hinge is also more resistant to wear than a conventional one.

What about lenses?

As with frames, lenses must be as resistant as possible to the various impacts they may receive. Lenses must also provide maximum protection for children's retinas from UV rays.

That's why at mymonture, by working with a French Essilor subsidiary, Mega Optic, we're able to bring you lenses with a hardened coating capable of withstanding the various shocks of everyday life, as well as a coating that fully protects against the harmful UV rays of sunlight (high-definition coating).

What frames does mymonture offer?

We currently offer a few models at mymonture, with a range that will expand over time, because we have a duty to guarantee optimal vision for children at the right price, just as we do for their parents.

We are currently working with Little Paul & Joe for optical frames and Julbo and Ray-Ban for sunglasses.

Optical frames

We are currently working with Little Paul & Joe for optical frames, who offer a selection of models with the same quality and aesthetic as the adult line. The various models are offered in acetate, and you can find among them :

Sunglasses

Protecting children from the sun's rays is of paramount importance, so it's vital to provide them with a suitable pair of sunglasses from an early age. That's why Julbo came up with the Looping models (1, 2 and 3, depending on baby's age), equipped with category 4 lenses and no hinges, to prevent baby from hurting himself.
