What are quotations? What do they mean, and are they the same in a store as they are in an online optician's? They're essential when you're about tobuy a pair of glasses. Today, Mymonture tells you all you need to know about optical quotations.
In France, opticians are obliged to give you a free estimate before selling you any optical equipment, whether frames, corrective lenses or contact lenses.
What exactly is the purpose of the estimate? It allows you to see exactly what your optician is offering you, and at what price, so that you can compare the different offers to see which one best suits your needs and budget.
For each product, the quotation must detail the various characteristics, such as the frame reference, the lens reference, theindex used (thinning), the treatments applied to the lenses and the French national health insurance reimbursement rate (which is 60%).
You'll also find information on the LPP (liste des produits et prestations) codes used by French national health insurance. These codes indicate the reimbursement base for optical products, and are used to complete the treatment form.
So what's the difference between an in-store estimate and an online estimate?
In reality, they're the same: the online quote gives you the same information as the in-store quote. At Mymonture, our priority is to be transparent with our customers, which is why you choose your options according to your needs, and our opticians are there to answer any questions you may have and advise you on the best choice for you.
If you would like to request a quote, please follow these simple steps:

Once you're on the page of the frame you like, click on the online quote button below the add to cart box.

If you don't yet have an account, you can create one to continue with the quote process.
Once your account has been set up, you can select the various parameters to be applied to your lenses yourself, in the following steps:

First, select the lenses you need.

Next, you enter the correction shown on your prescription. You can click here to find out how to read your prescription.

Next comes the thinning of your lenses. The stronger your correction, the thicker your lenses. For a more aesthetic result and improved visual comfort, we recommend that you thin your lenses if your correction becomes high.

Next, the coatings you wish to apply to your lenses. If you'd like more information on the different coatings applied to lenses, we invite you to read this article.

Finally, you can send us your prescription, indicating the various details that appear on it, such as the date of the prescription and the name of the prescriber.
It is also important to indicate the name of the beneficiary of the corrective lenses, for reimbursement purposes.
You can then create your quotation.
Once you've created your quote, it is valid for one month, and you can obtain it by clicking on "Print".
